A reasoned estimate of expected holding strength (excellent bottom) of a 65 pound Mantus M1 anchor is 4,000–6,000 lbs (5/16" G4 chain has a breaking strength of 11,600lb, while the Mantus S1 swivel has a breaking strength of 15,000 pounds, and the M2 CH2 5/16" chain hook has a breaking strength of 15,154 lbs).
