The stanchions are a mix of embedded nuts and through bolts with washers/nuts. Water was found in both sterns behind the partial bulkhead.

The repair process

  1. Remove all of the stanchions and hand rails (labeling hardware)
  2. Clean surfaces to remove residual adhesive
  3. Polish and clean with the acetone the bottoms of stanchion bases
  4. Clean the gelcoat and inside fiberglass with acetone
  5. Fill mounting holes with 3M 4200UV
  6. Coat the bottom of the stanchion bases with 3M 4200UV
  7. Install hardware and tighten
