First stop in Oyster bay

A couple of low keys days due to weather, the biggest excitement was our move up to Oyster Bay, leaving the soon to be crowded Palikulo bay (14 boats ended up waiting out the wind there). It was just a nine mile hop but it did have one tricky entrance over the reef where we saw only 1.1 meters below the keels. Inside we had a nicely protected anchorage for the waves with still feeling the wind.

Carl took to exploring by paddleboard before I followed suit, both of us checking out a small nearby island. Not much to see on it but broken coral beach and a view of the crashing waves on the windward side. Nice place to stretch one’s legs and explore a bit.

The following day we checked out a more interesting looking spot a bit north by dinghy. It looked reasonable so we made the move. It had been a rainy morning and the break lasted just long enough to get repositioned. The rain, clouds, and wind kept us indoors for reading and for me, doing some much-needed work.
