Galley
Strikhedonia’s galley is a chef’s dream featuring generous working space and a comfortable open layout. Two large galley windows (one an outward opening hatch) and one overhead hatch provide excellent views, ventilation and natural light. A clever cathedral ceiling design ensures the chef is in close contact with the saloon so no one misses out on the conversation when dinner is being prepared.
Bright and practical with extensive Polystone counter tops cover large storage cupboards for pots/pans and enough dry food supplies for a month’s cruise. A cleverly designed, glass-fronted cupboard stores dinnerware for up to eight people.
Strikhedonia is fitted with a Vitrifrigo 130L front opening marine fridge and a two compartment ICEER 60L electric eutectic freezer providing sufficient perishable food storage for a couple cruising for four weeks. The galley has two stainless steel sinks with hot/cold water and filtered water faucet. Strikhedonia’s fresh water tank is located under the saloon and holds 700L. Hot water is produced electrically when on shore power or from engine heat when at sea. The 40L hot water system is located in the port engine compartment. Strikhedonia is fitted with a SMEX three burner gas stove and oven. Gas is supplied from two 4.5kg/10 pound galvanized bottles stored in a dedicated box housed in the large locker immediately in front of the mast. Each gas cylinder lasts approximately 4-5 weeks of normal use.
The cylinders also supply gas to the Cookout stainless steel gas bbq located in the cockpit. The bbq has its own in-line on/off valve. A gas solenoid switch is located in the galley to the left of the fridge and is switched off when gas appliances are not is use. Strikhedonia comes complete with all the galley equipment required to cook and serve large groups. This includes a full set of marine cookware, a set of unbreakable West Marine plates and bowels, quality stainless steel cutlery, and a complete range of cooking equipment.
